It Happened. #UglySandals

I caved. After much debate, I went for the #uglysandals. I have to admit though. I wore similar style sandals when MK and A made them trendy several years ago (oy!). I swore I would never wear them again but seriously, how often do I say "never" and then totally contradict myself? (Always.)

But, Birks and socks by MK and A? I'm not so sure about that one. It could happen, I suppose. And it could be just as ugly.

Elbow Patches + Neutrals

Blazer: H&M, Cashmere hoodie: Ruehl, Tank: Gap, Jeans: Paige Denim, Booties: Zara, Jewelry: J.Crew & F21, Bag: Michael Kors

I'm a naturally shy person so when people ask me to take more self-portraits and post them, I feel a bit...awkward.  I don't pose as nicely as other girls do in their photos and I don't feel fully satisfied after I'm done taking photos.  But, I'm doing a lot of new things lately so I figure I might as well go full-stream ahead.  I believe I will eventually find my groove (especially if I follow these tips =).

When I first got this blazer, I was unsure if I would like it or love it.  I tried the blazer on in the store, but wasn't 100% sold.  After owning it for a few weeks now, I discovered I love it.  The comfy, sweatshirt feel of the blazer combined with the camel-colored elbow patches makes it so on-point.  A bit bookish + sportyish all in one.  It's been my go-to piece for several outfits now and I admit, I secretly love the glances I see from strangers walking by me.  Or...maybe it's because I'm awkward?

'70s Obsessed

Images via TopShop

Spring is so close and Punxsutawney Phil has predicted that Winter will NOT last another six weeks!  Although, the recent snow storms that hit other parts of the US (see Chicago) says otherwise we can still look forward to dressing the part for when the weather cooperates.

We can look forward to relaxed silhouettes, colorful patterns and luscious layers based on the '70s chic trends.  As I perused various lookbooks and shopping sites, I pulled some of my favorites to my desktop as inspiration.  Which trend do you look forward to?

Neutrals Meet Colors

The color camel has made its come-back into the world of fashion.  Runways were filled with this classic color ranging from trenches, skirts, trousers, knits, etc.  Stylish women welcomed the color for the fall and wore the color proudly.  Now, we will soon be faced with spring.  While many will opt to tuck away the color in favor of their spring staples, I want to hold on to the neutral color (as I’m a big fan of integrating items from seasonal wardrobes).

The mix of bold colors will make for an appropriate spring outfit.  The four tops I found are light in material and contemporary in cut.  I especially adore the first orange top for its Peter Pan-like quality with the collar and sleeve.  I can’t wait to mix and match for spring.  With the varying temperatures and weather patterns, a number of outfits will be born.
