I caved. After much debate, I went for the #uglysandals. I have to admit though. I wore similar style sandals when MK and A made them trendy several years ago (oy!). I swore I would never wear them again but seriously, how often do I say "never" and then totally contradict myself? (Always.)
But, Birks and socks by MK and A? I'm not so sure about that one. It could happen, I suppose. And it could be just as ugly.
This takes me back to the 90s... :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing Aritzia worn outside of Canada.
I've been eyeing a pair of birks as well, but I honestly don't see them as ugly sandals. I think anything can be ugly if worn wrong (ie with socks, etc.). But, clearly we've seen birkenstocks look chic and wearable. I love the way they look with jeans and just the casual vibes of them.
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely! xx

Haha, I actually love them! I think they are cute... and dang, if they are comfy, who cares?! Love the outfit!
ReplyDeleteWell let's see. 4 days ago I had no pairs and 4 days later, I have 3! LOL. So I'm jumping on the #uglysandal bandwagon with ya!! :) But I've never really minded Birkenstocks. I think they're okay. Crocs and Tevas on the other hand...that's a different story!
ReplyDeleteI love this summery look girl! <3

yeah, well they don't look anything at all like ugly on you! They look down right comfy! I used to have a pair as a kid, but now that everyone is getting them nowadays, maybe I should again too! lol! :) You look great!
ReplyDeleteI actually really like Birks (minus the socks), so for me this looks great!
ReplyDelete{Teffy's Perks} X
I'm not a fan of birks, but I do like how they look on you. I've seen some around and they look way too big on the girls wearing them, yours look great.
ReplyDeleteHey pretty lady, no joke I have the same shorts as you posted in my blog today LOL. I guess great minds think alike ;) I loved the way you styled them. The berks look good too.

Time to bust out my Birkenstocks from 10 years ago!!! I actually have never thought they were ugly... only when worn with socks!

I don't think Birks are ugly - I still don't think some Crocs are ugly. I have 2 pairs of Mary-Jane Crocs that I walked around Europe with (not ALL of Europe!) and I'll probably wear them to walk around SFO and LA when I come in June. Fashion is whatever you make it :P

Lol you caved! xD
ReplyDeleteI've seen this trend around, and I've decided that if worn right, they're actually pretty great. I've yet to own a pair, but...never say never!

I don't think they are ugly. They look like they provide some support though.
ReplyDeletelol. i used to have a pair every year - had to throw mine out last year cos i stepped in something unpleasant and it was just too gross to wash out. i am looking to buy a pair again! they're not ugly! :D i've been wearing them since high school though so they kind of feel like an addition to my feet and not actually sandals. such a weird concept huh :)
ReplyDeleteThey look great on you and they're good for your feet! I would wear them, but my long feet would look like boats in them.

[ Laughs ] Trust me when I say to you that I have seen my share of ugly sandals and I wouldn't class those on your feet as being ugly.
ReplyDeletelol but they look so good on you! i, myself, am debating this trend. will i give in?? only time will tell. are they as comfy as everyone says?
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful summer look!
