It's Not Just You, Babydoll

Babydoll camo dress: BooHoo (gifted at iFabboSFCon - UK brand now available in USA!), Shoes: Zara (old but similar at Shoemint), Accessories: H&M beanie, Alexis Bittar, Alisa Michelle and vintage bracelets, Diesel watch, Loeffler Randall Rider bag

By nature, I'm an introvert. Blogging is a forum I love and yet the thing I love about it (networking) is also what makes me very nervous (being social). After reading this article about being an introvert I realized that there are hundreds/thousands/millions of other people in the world who feel the same way. Sure, I understood the definition and I knew I was considered an introvert, but after reading this article it was a serious moment of clarity where I thought, "hey, that's EXACTLY how I feel!" So, perhaps I was not really aware after all.

So, I took a step and went to the SF Conference hosted by iFabbo. I admit, I was not the best networker. I have a lot to learn. But, I felt good stepping out of my own box and trying to stop being my own worst enemy. It was great to learn from others and meet people I would not have met before.

Because of this event, I was introduced to a new to me brand called,
BooHoo. They're based in the UK but recently launched in the USA. They showcased several items at their booth and this camo babydoll dress caught my eye. You may have seen me IG this dress on Saturday. I immediately wore it on Sunday. I normally don't think babydoll dresses flatter me but this particular one has a good balance of fit and slouch. I can't wait to shop some more pieces from BooHoo.

(P.S. Just so ya know, this post is NOT sponsored)

  4. I totally relate to the whole introvert thing - I'm hoping blogging will help me in that aspect. On a side note, I am loving this camo dress, it's a great/girly way to incorporate the print that seems to be everywhere!

  9. Love your chic camo dress! I'm an introvert too; I would rather spend my days inside reading than dealing with people! Networking also makes me nervous because I'm always worried I'm going to say the wrong thing and look like an idiot! lol

  10. I stopped by the BooHoo booth too, but I didn't really have time to look through their stuff. I will totally be spending the $20 gift card they put in the goodie bag though.

I am also a total introvert so I know EXACTLY how you feel. But these blogger conferences really help us break out of our comfort zones every now and then. It was super awesome to finally meet you, Nancy! :)

  11. I am the same way, I get so shy and a little awkward around new people. This year I went to Lincoln Center during Fashion Week and I was so nervous to even speak to people, but it turned out so well! I've heard of BooHoo, but have never bought anything. That dress is super cute!

  14. Oh my gosh, Nancy - I saw that article about introverts, too and I can say yes to almost all of them lol :) There's a lot to fear in networking! Ack! But congrats on taking that step - most of the time I find that I'm so happy I did (even though I initially dread it)!!! Also, this dress is FAB!!! xo

  21. Great dress! I am horrible at networking, not because of being an introvert but I would rather spend time with people I love and care about. I am just a not a fan of making small talk with strangers. I am glad you went and stepped out of your comfort zone.

  22. This introvert/extrovert topic has been on my mind a lot lately. I am also an introvert, but of the chatterbox variety. I am so afraid of networking!! Plus I am wearing a trench coat from boohoo in my latest post! Twins? I think we might just be :P

  29. Kate and I talked about going to ifabbo... wish I knew you were going. Hope it was great and worth while. I'm always worried things like this will be a waste of time... and probably don't go cause I'm an introvert too :)
