My earliest fashion memories are from my mother. She really loved fashion and style. If she could have, she would have worked in fashion. At least that's what I think. She never actually said this to me but I have a feeling she would have since she talked about her dreams of opening up a small shop to me all the time. My mom was particularly fascinated with scarves. She had a mean collection. I would play with them. A LOT. So, this outfit reminds me of her. She would wear scarves in all sorts of ways and she appeared so ladylike and sophisticated. I'm not like my mom with my style sense but wearing this 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target scarf in this way makes me feel a little bit more so. This look makes me feel more sophisticated than I ever am and has more French flair style than I usually dress (unless you count that one time I tried it here).
I love your scarf and shoes! My Mom had thyroid cancer when I was very young (she's still here with us!) and so to cover up her scars around her throat she would always wear scarves. I loved playing dress up with them :)

That's so cute. My mom has never been into fashion, but my Grandmother (her mom) really was. We are a lot alike. I love having memories like that! Your scarf is so pretty and I am glad to hear your stories!
ReplyDeleteIt does look quite French. Maybe because each piece is so simple? The sunnies and lippy are classic. I mentioned you on the blog today!

Awww! Mom's clothes are the best - I wish she kept more for me! My mom sewed a lot and made a lot of things, so those are all the things I treasure :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute! I absolutely love the combination of red + blue stripes- adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love how everything on your outfit compliments each other. The scarf with the shoes and the vest. You look great.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! I love the scarf. It has such a beautiful pattern and has such beautiful colors in it. I also like how you played up the red by adding the red heels. Perfect! Love it! I am also drooling over your bag!

my mom had so many different scarfs as well. I used them as "hair extensions" though.
