I'm utterly stoked for the 2012 Summer Olympics to begin (frankly, I'm much more of a fan for the summer sports over the winter sports). In honor of the Olympics, I thought it would be fun to do a post dedicated to the hard working athletes that will represent the USA in London.
German photographer Martin Schoeller captured some of the American Olympians for publication in TIME Magazine, ESPN Magazine and Women's Health Magazine. We get to see them as athletes outside of their competitive environment in a very intimate way (up close and personal). I'm in awe of the reality of what these athletes are capable of and seeing them in these photos makes it even more amazing.
