In an Instant

Sequin jacket: Thrifted Willow & Clay, T-shirt: Target, Distressed shorts: Forever 21, Leopard sneakers: H&M, Accessories: Thrifted sunglasses, Tory Burch bag

The last time I wore this thrifted sequin jacket on the blog, I had no idea what the brand was (no label). Thanks to Cheryl's good eye, she told me the jacket is by Willow & Clay. In mere minutes, I gained information from the blogging community. It made me smile that connections can be made so easily through social media.

Lately though, not all good things have come from social media. In fact, some of the things thrown out there has been awful. It's so easy to become jaded by what has given us all strength. Don't worry. I'm not going to lament over the sadness or stand on my soapbox to lecture about what's good/bad but, it's definitely a reminder to us all that the Internet is a powerful tool that we all share.

I'm definitely for keeping in the lighthearted nature of what blogging and social media can bring. Whether you like to post pretty photos of flowers, nails of the day, #OOTD, or anything else fluffy, just remember that what's good can still stay good. Life can be so serious but, we don't need to be serious all the time. So I'm wearing my fun sequin jacket, my (overworn) distressed denim shorts and leopard sneakers to offset some of the somber mood. Cheers!

  3. one of the reasons i started blogging was to start a community of folks so that i can connect with them, learn a thing or two and share advice and tips. i found that community on instagram mostly with dog owners and wanted to recreate it on the blog. i have connected with folks who blog about fashion, food, diy, knitting, crafting, family, games - such a wide variety of topics and it's been really great!

  4. I do try to keep it pretty light and positive on my blog...I am an overall very positive person so I think it just makes sense for me to be the same on the blog. I love how you can wear a sequin jacket in such a casual way and look so chic at the same time!

  5. Yes, sometimes you gotta shake off the seriousness and wear someting a little glitzy to perk things up. It's good to be conscious of the somberness that's in the world, but also important to remain hopeful and happy about life.
Anyway, love your cheery outfit :)

  6. That's is amazing that you found out the brand of the jacket through the blog - I agree that the blogging community can be so amazing. Unfortunately where there is good there is always negative. I definitely always like to keep a positive attitude on social media. Hope you have a great weekend! xx Kat
