We're all familiar with pop-up books from our childhood. I loved flipping the pages of a pop-up book and seeing an image "pop" from the page. I also remember creating my own pop-up greeting card and I remember how thrilled I was that the person receiving it would see a 3-dimensional image.
So imagine my excitement when I came across Michigan-based artist, Thomas Allen, and his intricate creations. He cuts out images and folds them into vintage books. The result is whimsical and creative. His work displays a high level of detail that is so intriguing and unique. Can you imagine the process of doing this? What do you think of this take on pop-up book art? You can check out more of his work on his website.
These are really interesting! I've seen some similar work but never with books. I love it, especially the Jane Eyre one!
