Two Decades Ago

Blazer: H&M, Shirt: H&M Kids, Shorts: F21, Heels: Max Studio, Jewelry: Gifted, J.Crew, Jimmy Choo for H&M

When it comes to dressing, I can't seem to classify myself into anything specific...girly? grunge? boho?  classic?  I like to mix things up and my style seems to lean towards keeping something a little unkempt.  Perhaps it's my style interpretation of the idea that "nothing is perfect."

Though there are days I'd love to look perfectly polished and properly preppy or beautifully bohemian and cool as a cucumber...the reality is, I'm not defined by just "one thing" so I'm not able to translate that in my style.  I truly felt this way when I wore this get-up.  Nothing about it is especially special, but there are parts and pieces that reflect me.  If someone asked me if I would choose this as a reflection of my style, I'd say "no," but I would also say that it reflects my personality.

What do you think?  Do outfits translate personality vs style preference?  Is there a difference?

  1. I think the great thing about fashion is that there are no rules! I change my look everyday based on how I feel...

  2. I definitely dress for how I feel. When I'm having a down day, I LOOK IT. When I'm feeling great, I LOOK IT! It's all about confidence. I don't think it has much to do with wearing the latest and greatest...it's about rockin' it with confidence - which you clearly do :)

  4. I don't think there is a need to put lables on everything. "bohemian" or "preppy" or whatever was invented by the fashion industry so you are just wearing a mix that doesn't have a word yet. Just make one up :)
I guess outfits can show personality or style preference. Some people clearly just wear what Vogue wants them to wear so I'd say that's style preference. But it also shoes a part of the personality which is "trying to fit in" or something. Sorry, I am rambling on. I feel most comfortable in clothes that reflect my personality...
