Let the Clothes Do the Talking

When I was a child, I adored looking at photographs of my mother.  She was my first fashion guru.  She was young in the 70s and I wish I could step back into time to take a look at her closet.

The scarf I'm wearing reminds me of my mother and a throwback to that time.  I don't often reach for it in my scarf collection but when I do, I keep myself minimally dressed to draw the attention to the scarf.  It's colorful, ethnic-inspired, graphic and woven.  The scarf tells a story of a time and place that makes me recall memories of my mother.  

Sometimes, it's nice to the let clothing do the talking.  Fashion allows that.
