For my first Wednesday Whim of 2013, I couldn't help but post an enlightening one (har har). This light installation (called LEDscape) for an IKEA store at the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon is designed by Portgual-based studio, LIKEarchitects (led by co-founders and architects, Diogo Aguiar and Teresa Otto) . They used 1,200 LEDARE lightbulbs on 1,200 HEMMA floor lamp bases (IKEA brand items).
The installation is meant to give viewers a sense of the beauty and awe of LED lights as well as emphasize the sustainability of the products used. People can walk through a path within the installation to really get inside the creation. It's amazing to see these photos!
What do you think? Do you like this piece? Do you have any opinions on LED lights?
