In With The New

top, sports bra, athletic pants c/o Ross

Ever since I became serious about leading a healthier lifestyle I have likewise become serious about my athletic attire. You see, when I was just talking about being healthy, I didn't really do or have anything that truly represented that lifestyle. I consumed plenty of "bad snacks" and old t-shirts and barely used sports bras summed up my "gear." Yup. Poser.

As I made the transition to this better-for-me lifestyle I began to feel healthier in ways I didn't realize. My energy level was higher. My stamina was longer. I maintained focus for longer periods of time. The change took time but, you know all
those benefits that people discuss? They were right.

The old mantra is also true; when you feel better you definitely want to look better. So out went my lame athletic wear and in came clothes that made me look as motivated as I felt. In my third collaborative look with Ross for #RossFallFaves, I picked up some basic athletic wear on maj-ah discount. When I saw some brand name labels that I would never purchase otherwise, I knew I scored. Seriously. Scored! Just like the last looks, you can vote here for your favorite look and you can win a $150 gift card to spend on some new gear yourself! A vote for me is always, always appreciated!

Have you stepped up your routine recently? Any tips to share?

As an update, thank you to all who voted for my first look that won! My second look is still up for contention.
Thanks to Ross for including me in this campaign. I received a gift card for this post but all comments and opinions are my own.

  2. So cute! I was the same way - I would always spend hours researching nutrition and other health-related topics but never actually incorporated them into my life until several years ago. It took a long time but I've never turned back! x

  3. You look amazing!! I keep saying I'm going to lead a better lifestyle too, but it's hard with so many delicious snacks out there! I've been going to the gym at least two days a week, three when I really can and I've been drinking A LOT of water. My only weakness is snacking. I've cut down a lot and it's not like I'm eating really bad foods, but I need to stop having chips while I read. :)

    P.S. -- Voted for ya!

  6. I left a comment through my phone but I don't think it worked. So sorry if I'm spamming again! But look at your calves!! So strong. Getting healthy is not easy in my opinion, but this time around I'm trying to do it slowly so it will stick. And it's been working so far! Congrats on winning the Ross look on Facebook! <3

  9. I used to really hate going to the gym but lately, I've discovered that the electric stepper burns a lot of calories! I've been trying to go everyday but it's hard sometimes! I love how you look on your workout gear! =)

  16. You really do look fit!!

I'm slowly getting back into my workout routine (I tend to fall out of it during the summer), and one of the things that keeps me motivated to hit the gym is to have good workout clothes. I used to wear oversized, ugly t-shirts and old leggings to work out, and wondered why I hated it so much! How things have changed :)

  17. I completely agree when I feel great I want to look great (and vice versa!). Living a healthy lifestyle is a must for me.. but I always find it challenging to look for new workout routines that I'm not bored with. You look great Nancy! xx Kat
