Wednesday Whim - Oprisco

all photos via Oleg Oprisco via 500px

I first came across Ukraine-based photographer's, Oleg Oprisco, work last year but, this year his creative and emotive photos seem to evoke a different response from me. Oleg Oprisco's work is surreal and fairy-tale like. Each photo looks as if it is from a scene mid-way through a film. Oleg thoughtfully curates each scene he captures, which (as he states) is based on real life. He works alone, uses only natural light, shoots with a medium format SLR and only uses Kodak film. For Oleg, photography is "a game in the casino. You can win big or lose it all." Such a wise young fellow (24 years old at the time of the interview).
