#SFBatKid To The Rescue

BatKid T-shirt: Kid Monarch (available again for pre-sale! 100% of proceeds are donated to Make-A-Wish!!!), Faux leather pants: Forever 21 (old), Leopard sneakers: H&M, Accessories: H&M beanie, Baublebar Primary Azetc earrings, Nike FuelBand, Lionette bracelet, Jimmy Choo x H&M bracelet, Michael Kors watch, Thrifted Coach Willis handbag

I've been away from the blog for a week and it feels like a lifetime! My day job took the majority of my attention and focus so that's where I have been. Despite the business, I'm SO, SO, SO grateful I was able to take some time on November 15 to witness San Francisco turn into Gotham City for BatKid (AKA: Miles, 5 who battled leukemia). If you haven't already heard, thousands of people gathered to see Miles become BatKid on November 15 where he rescued a damsel-in-distress on the cable-car tracks, captured The Riddler robbing a vault, rescued the SF Giants mascot, Lou Seal, from The Penguin and finally be celebrated for his efforts by the SF Mayor, Ed Lee, at City Hall (see here).

The husband and I knew we had to be there to see Miles in person and also be a part of the thousands of volunteers who gathered for Miles and his family. To say the least, I was moved by the amount of people who showed up, the genuine feeling of good will by the crowd and the bravery of Miles for battling cancer since he was 20 months old. Thankfully, he is now in remission and hopefully will lead a healthy and long life. Miles' story will forever be a part of me and I will never forget November 15 (especially now that November 15 will be BatKid day in SF from now on).

I've lived in San Francisco my whole life and I've never seen the City come together in this way before. To say the least, it was absolutely amazing. If you have any time, check out the Make-A-Wish Foundation and see how you can be a part of someone's wish come true.
