I've always grown up in a city environment so I will always consider myself a city gal. My parents lived in a suburb before but it was still so close to the city that I never hung out in my own neighborhood. My husband on the other hand experienced life in the city and the suburb and he always talks about the pros/cons of both lifestyles. There's no doubt the quieter and more family-appropriate suburban life has its pros but I just love the culture and energy from the city life. I love living close to various museums, different restaurants, different neighborhoods and different people. I was exposed to this my whole life that only when I began to visit other cities and suburbs outside of the Bay Area as a teenager did I realize everyone doesn't live like this. It was a surprise but not one that bothered me. I enjoyed the fact that I had such variety in my life.
How about you? Do you have a preference for city life vs. suburban life?
I've only lived in the city as an adult, but I have always fancied myself as a city girl at heart too. There's so much more going on! I love your city girl look too!

I've always lived in big cities. I lived in the suburbs for a time but I just can't do it - it's too small!
ReplyDeleteI adore your jacket and your shoes! Such an edgy-glam combination!

I am so in love with this look, love the leather jacket with the polka dots!!
ReplyDeleteI live in a small city (50,000 people) adjacent to a big city (1 million) and it's honestly the best of both worlds, it's barely a 15 minute drive (in the summer, not winter) to the best parts of city life!

I've been missing sf so much lately! There's definitely pros and cons lol... love this look btw! So freaking chic!
ReplyDeletei have always been a city girl. i love the suburbs/country for a weekend, but i will always want to live in the city! i love your outfit. you look so cute in that hat!
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely pros and cons of both. I think it depends on your situation. For the most part I'm a city girl. If I had a family I would want to live in the suburbs. Love that jacket and your shoes Nancy...SHARP!

OBVIOUSLY, you know I'm dying to experience life in the fast-lane, haha! I agree, suburbs are great for families but I want to live in a big, busy city while I'm young so I can say that I've had the experience!
ReplyDeleteI love your jacket by the way! I've been looking to replace the one that I have because it's falling apart.. :(

Cool outfit! I grew up in the suburbs, but I love only 40 minutes from NYC, so it's kind of like living in both worlds. I love being in NYC and the energy of it, but at the end of the day it's nice to go home to a quiet, relaxing place.

Having variety in your life is something I envy! I've always wished I'd grown up in that kind of surrounding. Being connected to so much and having that opportunity is awesome.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, love this edgy city look! Awesome ;)

What an awesome jacket. I love the way you styled it!
ReplyDeleteLove your jacket! I live in a city now, but grew up in the bush. I'll always be a bush girl!
ReplyDeleteThe city has its pros and cons just as everywhere else, but we love the city. And your Giants pride! What a fun, chic look!

I grew up in the suburbs and I love the idea of city life. I think it works for those who are younger and don't have kids. Only because I like the fact that my son can ride his bike without being hit by cars and when you're younger you can sit down in a cafe and read a good book and experience the night life. It definitely has its pros/cons.
ReplyDeleteI love this urban look! That leather jacket is phenomenal! <3

I grew up in a very small village in Sweden with limited access to restaurants etc but with gorgeous nature around the corner. Being a student, I loved the city life and the variety it had to offer but now with two small kids, I do appreciate the quiet life in the suburbs but within the reach of what the city life has to offer!
ReplyDeleteCool look! Love your leather jacket and cap!!!

The jacket is awesome--total love. I'm more of a suburban girl because I love the space and living in a house, but I do love the ability to walk out your door and easily go to so many places, which only comes with city life.
