"Mane-Tained"

images via Fashionising

When it comes to my hair, I don't really stray too far from what I know will work. I have thick, layered and dark hair so what looks so fabulous and pretty on others doesn't necessarily translate on me (...the grass always looks better on the other side doesn't it?).

As I was perusing the Fashionising site, I came across some images that I think may really work out on me and have definitely inspired me to try new things to shake things up a bit.

Are you trying anything new on your hair?  Do you have any ideas to share? As you may already assume, I will be testing some of these over this holiday (Easter) weekend.

  1. love these inspirational hair pictures. I am the most fickle person EVER and always want to change my hair. If it's dark I want it blonde, now that it's darker again I kinda want to die it a pastel-blonde-ish color, but don't know if I have the balls to :). Have a great weekend!

  3. I can't wait to see your new styles! I am terrible with hair, I can barely blow dry mine. I tried the upside-down french braid last night and failed miseraby!

  4. I am OBSESSED with hairdos right now, I look at my week in outfit posts and I have the same hair every day!! I am desperately scouring mags for easy styles, that are current and that suit me. I'm going to fashionising right now. Never heard of it, so thanks for the hot tip. x

  7. The fishtail will look gorgeous on your thick long hair. :)
I'm just like Caitie I always try to change my hair, but there isn't much I can actually do with it because it's very dry and brittle. I have always wanted to get extensions and I also have always wanted to try this:

  10. Very inspirational photos you posted! I love a few of them. I wish I could do that to my hair :( But it is too "silky" and I am too scared to try and tease it because I don't want to damage it. Also I have trouble with 2nd day hair and I have to wash it daily :(

  11. I love the idea of a scarf! It's always hard to do things with my hair too because it's so thick and curly.

  14. I love all these looks :) I'm not at all adventurous with my hair (really long and wavy)- but I'm continuously shocked at how awesome unusual up-dos and buns can look; especially messy ones... Sometimes its fun to just get a bunch of clips out and go crazy with them ;)
