The husband and I didn't have any exciting plans this past 3-day weekend but we did manage to tackle a significant "to-do" list for the home. Part of this list included a purge of the closet, which I have a love/hate relationship with. I love how I feel afterwards but, I just hate the process.
What I have realized through each purge is how much more minimalistic my style is going and how my love for classic pieces is increasing. This is catching me by surprise since I've always been drawn to eclectic and bold/wild choices. I still love that kind of aesthetic but it's definitely becoming more refined.
In my past style life, this particular outfit would have needed more pizzazz in my eyes but, nowadays I love the clean lines and the neutral colors.
Is this what it means to be an adult?
It's beautiful!!! And I still see a good bit of pizzazz!!! Those shoes rock! Happy week to you!!! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteOh I HATE closet clean outs! Good for you for doing it though. I love this grey and navy look! The bag is perfect!

I've been feeling the same way too! Now that I'm getting older my pieces are becoming much more minimalistic.

Love this clean and classy look! I agree—I think a lot of us are headed toward more of the minimalist style. It's easy and always chic. Looking forward to filling my closet up with some simplistic fall pieces this season!
ReplyDeleteI loved her look and her skirt is perfect, classic style is so much easier to wear!

Very chic! Love the bag!
ReplyDeleteThis look may be classic but it definitely has enough pizzazz! I dread the closet purge too but it always feels great once it's done.

Classy! I love the light trench! So cute! I wish I could wear sweaters and light jackets, but it's still too hot!

love that trench! and i love love the feeling of purging, but the process definitely can be a little too much and overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteI, too, find that with time, I enjoy a more simplistic look. I feel it's just easier than the more dramatic and bold pieces, though I still find myself snagging a wild print and interestingly-shaped piece every now and then!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I just moved to San Francisco so it's exciting to see so many lovely fellow fashion bloggers.

Beautiful outfit Nancy! It's hard to purge. I did it over several years, but I appreciate it now. I'm now happy and filling it with classic pieces. They last much longer than trends.
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely in love with your entire outfit!! I love every piece from the skirt to the shoes to the super cute jacket!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my blog, maybe we can follow each other? Hope to hear from you!!

I think this look is totally dreamy. I'm having a love affair with minimalism right now, and this outfit is ideal to me! The pop of blue and scalloped detail in the skirt is just enough pizzazz (do people still use that word?) for me. You look incredible! I'm take so much inspiration from this look!

Even if this look is very classic and neutral, I still love that you're adding different details from ur statement necklace and lace-up heels!!
ReplyDeleteI know, I look back at old posts of my crazy eclectic style and have to cringe a bit. I'd like to say my look has become a bit more refined - though I still can't resist a good boho look here and there ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this classy chic look you're rocking - the statement necklace is perfect!

I completely agree! It's always hard seeing hard-earned pieces of your wardrobe fall to the wayside, but I absolutely love taking them into consignment shops so that I know someone else can love those pieces as much as I did. And I, too, find myself going toward a more minimalistic style with classic pieces. It's awesome when you can pay a little bit more for something you are going to love forever. And you gave the perfect ensemble for styling those beautiful minimal pieces. You look like a dream! This is definitely one of my favorite posts of yours XOXO
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this look especially the white trench coat, it's so Dior inspired. I think it's good 2 move 2wards more on minimalism as long as ur comfy with urself and it defines ur own personal style then that's wot u should go for xx Have a lovely day xx
