Sweater: Forever 21 (old), Skirt: "thrifted" by my mother-in-law, Leopard flats: Gap (recent), Accessories: Karen Walker sunglasses, Asos embellished beanie, necklace via Gilt, gifted Jade bracelet, La Mer x Target leopard wrap watch, Nike FuelBand, Catbird NYC rings, Lulu Frost number ring, Clare Vivier fold over clutch
My slogan with fashion/style has always been "never say never." There are so many things I thought, "I would never wear that" and then...I do. I'm freakin' ironic.
This statement is true for this denim skirt. My mother in law gave it to me during her closet cleanse. I hesitated at first because of my initial associations with denim skirts from my mom's era but, I couldn't pass up the way it fit on me and how I saw some denim skirts styled in street style photos. Denim skirts are almost like overalls for me with regards to trends but you saw how I got over that.
Have you been wearing denim skirts lately?
I absolutely love this look, it's always fun to try new things like this. That denim skirt is lovely. And you are always rocking the beanies
ReplyDeleteEverything just keeps coming back in style doesn't it? I used to wear a lot of denim mini skirts back in the day but I like this longer length a lot.

Hooray for taking fashion risks! I love the way you styled this skirt!
ReplyDeleteI think your denim skirt is perfect! It's more modern because of the dark wash, and it has a longer hemline, instead of the ones from the Kelly Kapowski days. :P I think you styled it wonderfully with the striped sweater! <3

I love your slogan and that's what I love about your outfits!! Me on the other hand...pretty boring with my mostly-neutral closet and lack of prints and patterns. Ugh. But winter is around the corner and black is what everyone is wearing here in NYC! LOL! I LOVE this denim skirt! and it looks so good on you - I'm SO glad you decided to give it a try!! Happy weekend, Nancy!! xo

You look so cute, Nancy! I am definitely the same way - I never thought denim skirts or denim jackets would come back in, but now I think they are so great! I have to admit, I'm kind of mad at myself for getting rid of so many of my old clothes!
ReplyDeleteHi sweety, you look so pretty, I love your terrific use of accessories in this suave outfit. Thanks for your kind words over at mine...hope you're having a great unwinding weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat denim skirt... love the darker color and slightly longer length. Hope you're having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's not a micro mini denim skirt thats shredded to pieces so I think it's fine! It kind of has like a pencil skirt silhouette. I like it!

denim skirts are one of those things that flit in and out of style, and i think it all depends on the cut! This is gorgeous on you and your Mondrian-esque top!
