You may remember from my Instagram that I played around with an app to create a mirror effect image. That's what I thought of when I saw these vertiginous images. Toronto artist, Brent Townshend, uses his technological background (he received a Doctoral degree from Stanford University and worked in scientific research) with his creative flair for photography to capture unique angles and light. The resulting photography series (called Looking Up - The Sky In Context) is mesmerizing and captivating.
Personally, whenever I visit a new city I love to look at the skyline. This is especially true when I'm in standing in an area with high-rise buildings and these buildings create interesting shapes in the sky when you look up. It's an intriguing mix of industry and nature.

ReplyDeleteI love how his works give you a whole new perspective. It's reminding me to remember to look up more while I'm walking around the city (instead of at the gum-covered sidewalk).
