The weather outside is frightful. Ok...it's not (yet). But, it's definitely cold. Since I don't own a proper winter coat (I haven't replaced the ones I used to own), I'm all about layering. If you're not careful, you could look chunky. For me, the "trick" is to keep the top half layered up but try to keep the bottom half less so. I do add a layer of tights under my jeans to help keep my internal temperatures warm. It's the little things that keep me happy.
How do you feel about layering?
love your heels !! you look stunning

so cute! I totally know what you mean... I hate feeling like a stuffed sausage when I have to layer so I try and do the same as you - layer on the top and keep it less bulky on the bottom. you seem to have mastered it!

I don't really own a 'proper' winter coat either. I LOVE this though - a little fur would be so warm and cozy right now

Suuuper cute! I love that you paired a hat with a fur coat.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t That Charming.
I used to be heavier back in high school and I hated layering. With a fierce passion. I used to hate fall and winter because then I would have to wear sweaters and coats, and I always hated the way I looked in them. Then I lost like 40 pounds and never wanted to layer because I thought I had to show off how thin I was. LOL. Not sluttily, but this was the early 2000's so some belly midriff was always there. Haha. Now I'm okay with where I'm at; I wish I could lose like 15 pounds, and I think I have a better understanding of how to layer without looking heavier. It is definitely a process though and with a bigger bust I try to stay away from cable knits!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, sorry for the novel. I think you layer perfectly and I love those cute heels. Hope you have a great weekend!! <3

Love this, great idea with the heavy on the top layering while keeping is simple on the bottom. Good idea, I have the same problem, not wanting to look heavy, but also wanting to be warm!
ReplyDeletelove the orange accents...the heels especially! the beanie is really cute, too. we normally don't have too many opprtunities to layer here, but i have been making good use of my scarves!

You look wonderful and warm. I wouldn't dare go bare footed (even in heels) in the winter! I'd die. But I thick hats and sweaters usually do the trick!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit, so cozy and chic! The pop of colour of the heels just completes the look! I'm new here and I really love your blog!

Your heels are sooo pretty! I have yet to find an affordable, versatile, red (preferably suede) heel. I've been on the lookout since last summer. Hopefully I'll find them soon.
