Dress: Zara Kids, Sweater: Zara, Shoes: Gap (similar here), Hat: F21, Accessories: J.Crew, gifted and vintage bracelets, F21 rings, Marc Jacobs watch, Karen Walker sunglasses, Clare Vivier clutch

I know it seems odd, but on occasion I do "shop" in the kids sections. Err...awkward? Sometimes, the attire made for children is just so much more livelier than the adult section. There's obviously a fine line between appropriateness and silliness so I don't do this often of course. But I have to admit that every now and then a certain item will catch my eye and I just have to have it.

Case in point, this fun patterned dress. From afar, it looks like a pattern you've seen before, but up close you'll note that it's sunglasses! There's even a cute bow-tie accessory at the collar line that is just so sweet (and I just wanted it even more). The drop-line waist is reminiscent of the 20's and vintage-like for an adult (yet still on-trend with the doll-dress shape) so it all made it seem less inappropriate. (At least that's what I'm telling myself.)

This habit may or may not stop. Depending on when I have my own children.

  1. I love to take a look at the kids section while thrifting but i would feel kind of funny at a retail store, taking the things into the dressing room. I guess I'm just to self conscious, I couldn't tell that this was a kids dress at all so this was a great find!
