Accessories First, Outfit Later

The countdown to 2011 is here and by week's end, the New Year will be upon us.  With so many of us still resting from the holiday weekend mayhem (food coma, anyone?), the thought of what to wear to ring in the New Year seems rather exhausting.  BUT, I'm never one to shy away from putting together an outfit--no matter the time of year.  I am excited at the prospects of putting together an outfit, figuring out the accessories, and finalizing the makeup to create an overall "look."  I'm taking inspiration by the collection of jewelry I have amassed over the years.  My mother was the first person to give me jewelry and I have not stopped since.  It's amazing what kind of pieces are in my collection.  Some I received as gifts, some I found at vintage boutiques, and others I randomly found while shopping at the mall!  While it may seem counterintuitive to start with the accessories, sometimes I just need a starting point and jewelry always helps me get to where I need to be.
